Option 2: Via the Mekong Delta by speed ferry
If you’re planning to visit the Mekong Delta, why not combine it with your trip to Phu Quoc? This route offers a scenic journey with stops in the delta’s lush countryside and charming towns before catching a ferry to the island.
2 day – 1 night
On the first day, you travel from Ho Chi Minh City to your preferred Mekong Delta region, such as Can Tho or Ben Tre. Spend the day exploring with boat tours and cycling. After an overnight stay, head to Ha Tien the next morning to take the speed ferry to Phu Quoc.
3 days – 2 nights (most recommended)
For a more leisurely trip, leave Ho Chi Minh City on day one and travel to Can Tho in the Mekong Delta. Explore the area by bike and stay overnight. On the second day, visit the famous floating markets like Cai Rang, and explore local villages and workshops. Stay a second night in Can Tho before heading to Ha Tien on the third day to catch the ferry to Phu Quoc.
